Black 550 paracord has a diameter of approximately 4mm or 5/32 inches. This like all commercial 550 nylon paracord features 7 inner twisted strands made of nylon. The strands are encased in a woven nylon covering.

Parachute cord has many uses, both decoratively and functionally which is why many crafters make crafts out of paracord.

In a survival situation, the bracelet can be taken apart and the cord can be used as a whole, or the inner strands can be pulled out and used for such things as snares, thread, or fishing line.
