Canada's Source for Ultralight Trowels

Made of super tough aircraft aluminum, the BoglerCo UL Trowel is the end all be all when it comes to backpacking trowels.

Why the BoglerCo Trowel is the Best:

  • Weighs practically nothing at 13.5 grams (0.48 ounces)
  • End cap provides comfort and protection for hands
  • Aircraft aluminum construction makes it extremely tough and resilient
  • Lifetime warranty against breakage under normal usage
  • Thin, serrated edge cuts through turf and small roots effortlessly
  • Made by a small independent shop in the USA
  • Overall length is 7.25 inches, ideal for responsible catholes

How to Use:

  1. Use the palm of your hand to push the trowel into the ground. The plastic end cap cushions your palm as you apply force. A proper cat‑hole is about 7 inches deep, the same length as this tool.

  2. Push backwards on the handle to dig up soil. Never push forward on the back of the handle to pry. The trowel is strong for its weight, but most of its strength comes from its bent shape, so avoid warping or flattening it.

  3. Use the serrated edges to cut through roots. The thin edge cuts cleanly through turf and small roots, while the serrated edges slice larger ones.

  4. Fill in and hide your hole when finished. Always remember to Leave No Trace.

Care Instructions:

  • Do not use in fire. Exposure to open flame will change the heat treatment properties of the metal, permanently weakening it.
  • Do not use cleaners with bleach. Bleach will oxidize the aluminum causing dark splotches.
  • File Occasionally. The teeth may become rounded over time; use a small metal file to make them pointy and sharp again.
  • Some wear will appear over time. The metal is treated with a natural oil to prevent corrosion. It is purposefully not anodized to avoid releasing toxic chemicals into the environment during manufacturing. The surface will eventually show wear, gaining a simple rustic aesthetic all its own.
