Alpenglow Gear

Canada's Source for UL Inventions

Alpenglow, Alpenflow, Alpenblow, Alpenwoah. Alpenglow Gear was created by PCT Thru Hiker Tom, also known by his trail name 'Gadget'. Gadget is a former electric car designer who now designs awesome and useful ultralight tools instead.

The original creation is the Alpenblow, a sleeping pad inflator that weighs 8.5g, roughly the weight of a toonie and a dime. This tiny inflator plugs into USB‑C devices like your phone and fills most pads in a few minutes. My BA Divide Insulated takes about four minutes.

The newest invention is the Alpenflow, a brilliant and featherweight way to transfer canister fuel. Cool or gently warm one canister, make a canister and Alpenflow sandwich, press, and hold. It also weighs only 2.4g, about the weight of a penny (rest in peace).

AlpenBlow LUX Sleeping Pad Inflator | Alpenglow Gear

Getting to camp after a long day of hiking is sweet relief; until you have fill your sleeping pad. Before now your options were using the awkward bag inflators that take up too much room and weight or the old school route of hyperventilating into the pad until you are sick and dizzy. The Alpenblow Lux solves this problem while weighing nothing and drawing very little power from your phone/battery. The new and stronger Lux iteration includes deflation, a reading light, and white noise modes.
