I bought the SVEA1233R from Stapleton's years ago in preparation for a trip across the Trans Labrador Highway, because it will run on white gas, and gasoline in a pinch.
Numerous internet reviews pointed to this modern version of the classic SVEA123 as a workhorse that seldom failed, if ever. After using it for nine years,I've only had one minor problem that was easily righted by replacing a seal and pip.
Many of my friends are impressed with it's small pack size, and ease of use compared to stoves like the MSR Whisperlite etc. For the SVEA, you prime, run, and replace windscreen and cook your food. I pack mine in set of nesting pots similar to the Terra Weekend HE Cook set.
This stove is wicked, and although a tad heavy for backpacking, it is a wonderful piece of kit and will burn just under an hour on a full tank of Coleman stove fuel. It'll boil 500ml of water in under 8 minutes, so that one tank of fuel will easily last a weekend of "boil ups".
Cheers!
