Key Features of the Sierra Designs Lightning 2 FL Tent
The Lighting 2 FL Tent is all about light weight. Sierra Designs reduced the weight by innovating a new and better design. Some of the innovations include a single, large drop down door. The other end of the tent is the tapered foot box. Therefore, making it easier to get in and out of the tent while reducing the amount of fabric used by making the foot area of the tent smaller.
In addition, you no longer have to climb over your gear stowed in the vestibule, as Sierra Designs removed the vestibule and replaced it with an awning. The awning works great in providing protection from incremental weather, while allowing the tent door (or large screen window) to be open to enjoy the surrounding sights. Don’t worry, Sierra Designs hasn’t forgot about protecting your gear. The Lighting 2 FL features a gear locker on both sides of the tent which can be accessed easily from either outside the tent or inside the tent.
Can be pitched anywhere—no matter how impenetrable the surface.
Large Single Drop Door
Single door saves weight, but is uncommonly wide and large enough for two to sit side by side
15" Integrated Awning Poles
Maximizes the door opening and drip line without the weight of a support pole.
Hybrid Double/Single Wall
Reduces weight and provides quick, dry set-up, even in the rain
Hubbed Pole Pitch
Speedy, dry set up
Massive Foot Vent
Creates a venting tunnel between the foot box and the drop door vent for unprecedented ventilation and superior condensation management
Full-size foot box
Gear storage where it should be—away from the door. Whether toggled closed or left open for additional venting, gear stays dry in a rainstorm. Plus, each occupant gets zip-accessible individual gear storage.
